Meet Hummingbird Hannah
Earth Ally.
Hummingbird Hannah was brought up in the district of Sipekne'katik of Mi'kma'ki -- which now holds the small community of Mount Uniacke in what is now known as rural Nova Scotia. There, she explored all of nature's beauty on the abundant land her family lived on and developed a deep love for the Earth and all her untamed creatures. When she grew up and moved to the city, as young adventurers are wont to do, she never did lose the habit of picking up pretty stones and fallen nuts to fill her pockets with nature's treasures. Eventually, in time, the call of the wild brought her back to the woods where she could learn, grow, and evolve.
With great revere of Mother Earth, Hummingbird Hannah has studied plants and folk practices that can allow her to work with nature to provide nourishing aides for good health and wellness for her family, friends, and community. In addition, she creates art, decor and jewellery made from up-cycled and recycled materials as well as snippets of nature to bring awareness of the importance of adopting sustainable practices and the beauty all around us.
You can often find Hummingbird Hannah touring around in Ele, the Elephant Van, participating in a number of Farmer's Markets across Nova Scotia -- or even in the comfort of your own backyard, offering to share her knowledge through the learnings of any one of her Workshops.
If not there -- you'll likely find her cuddling a chicken.
